2/27/2024 0 Comments Barbarian warblade buildIf that attack hits, resolve your damage as normal. As part of this maneuver, you make a single melee attack against an opponent. Unfortunately, as soon as an attack misses, your tempo breaks, and this delicate maneuver crumbles into a fl urry of wasted motion. If your attack hits, you repeat the same attack again and again at nearly superhuman speed, allowing you to score multiple hits in a blur of activity. In a flashing blur of steel, you unleash a devastating volley of deadly attacks against your enemy, striking it again and again. Prerequisite: Three Diamond Mind maneuvers A result of a natural 1 on your Concentration check is not an automatic failure. You must use this maneuver before you roll the Reflex save. Roll a Concentration check instead of the Reflex save and use the result of that check to determine the save’s success. You can use this maneuver any time you would be required to make a Reflex save. Your mind, rather than your raw reflexes, dictates your defenses. You know that a mix of mental acuity and martial training, along with a strong sword arm, is an unbeatable combination. Other warriors rely on their physical talents. When a spell or other attack strikes you, you move a split second before you are even aware of the threat. Your supreme sense of the battlefield, unmatched martial training, and simple, intuitive sense of danger allow you to act faster than the speed of thought. Concentration is the Diamond Mind discipline’s key skill. The bastard sword (or katana), rapier, shortspear, and trident are this discipline’s favored weapons. Time seems to flow slower to a Diamond Mind initiate. If the hammer of the earth is unavailable, you can also take a few levels of Warblade and rely on insightful strikes and, eventually, greater insightful strikes.Diamond Mind maneuvers allow a warrior to use her cunning, intellect, and feel for the battlefi eld against her enemies. There are plenty of useful options open to you. Personally I enjoy going frenzied berserker 10 at level 11 but that's just me. Fist of the forest has some very annoying roleplay requirements so, unless you're making a vow of poverty build, I'd avoid it. while insightful strike is fun, you usually do more damage with the hammer since you get to use iteratives, you can also get the hammer fairly early Interesting feats: steadfast determination (Con bonus to will save) Key magic item: hammer of the earth (adds your Con bonus to damage) I kept this build as a backup character a while ago:Ģ Barbarian (for pounce, + rage gives you extra Con)ĥ Stoneblessed Con +2 (now considered a dwarf) Your Saves should be equally ridiculous, and it's not that hard to get Evasion (and Mettle, if you really care, but it's rarely useful).It's also worth noting that the Kensai can also boost its own strength using Concentration, which doesn't quite fit the theme of Con-SAD, but certainly doesn't hurt. Your AC (including your Touch AC) should be pretty ridiculous. Put them together, and you get one heck of a Tank. It's also worth mentioning that the Totemist (Magic of Incarnum) gets powers based on Con, in case you want a Con SAD build. But with full-ish BAB and Power Attack, you won't need it. If your DM lets you use 3.0 sources, be sure to buy a Hammer of Earth for Con to damage. He can also get his Con to damage (twice!) with Greater Insightful Strike (once per encounter until you re-charge your manuevers). But be mindful that they're Immediate Actions, so you can only do so once per turn, and once per encounter (until you re-fill your manuevers). Warblade can replace any Save with a Concentration check if you have the right manuevers. The Steadfast Determination feat (requires Endurance) lets you replace your Wis with Con for Will Saves.Īlong with various other buffs, Kensai lets you replace Reflex Saves with Concentration checks. But you can swap this out as well.įist of the Forest grants you your Con to AC while unarmored.ĭeepwarden grants you your Con to AC (replacing Dex). Monk provides Evasion and Improved Unarmed Strike (pre-req for FotF). But you can swap it out for Dwarf Paragon or Factotum or various other base classes, as long as you can cobble together what you need.
